The long-awaited holidays have finally arrived! The whole family gathers to celebrate Christmas. However, the festivities are overshadowed by a terrible event: the head of the family, the only man in the house, is found murdered in his room. The eight women, including his family and servants, are trapped inside and cut off from the outside world. The women are frightened, for the killer is most likely among them and each of them has a motive for murder. So they decide to conduct their own investigation. This investigation uncovers in one evening many secrets that have been carefully kept for years...

There is probably no more controversial New Testament character than Judas Iscariot, the traitor of Christ. In the canonical tradition he - the personification of evil; in the apocrypha - the image is more complex, aware of its mission; in the eyes of some scientists - Judas is a victim of circumstance. Leonid Andreev writes out the image of a suffering person, suffering immensely from a misunderstanding of his feelings, painfully striving to understand the nature of his own internal contradictions, and to find the answer to the question "WHY?"
